![]() ![]() Incidentally, I don't get a "stream" folder on my card nor a. I use the Creative Suite for graphic design kinds of stuff and not so much video/multimedia so I'm not really intuitive at all with this kind of stuff.Īnyway, Premiere opens up the file, it just needs to be opened with the right sequence of steps. ![]() though I probably forgot more than I even learned with that!). I have this program that I got with a copy of the Creative Suite that I got years ago, but honestly, I hand't messed with the Premiere at all (though years ago I played with After Effects a bit. I tried to open it right from the file, rather than opening the program, starting a project, specifying the media and all of that. Thanks!!! I should have thought about looking at some videos first. #CLIPWRAP PREMIERE PRO PRO#I see on YouTube there's a tutorial for "Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 & AVCHD" mts files which are located in the "Stream" folder on the card. To sum it up, I'm basically looking for a way to use the GH2 to produce high def files that are editable with a current version of Premiere, without having to spend any money. Is it super large and slow to edit? Also, my buddy who I'll be lending the camera to has access to a pro editing suite that is likely has a very current, if not the most current version Premiere (mine is CS4) so perhaps this version of the program can deal with these AVHD files. I do understand that I can generate a "motion JPEG" file as well and I think that I can do that with the firmware that I have currently loaded but I wonder if this is a practical format to use. I see from the specs that the GH2 with the native firmware also generates these AVHD files so it doesn't seem to make sense to remove the hot rodded firmware and go back to the old stuff. so short of that, I wonder what might be other options. I figure that my contribution is lending the thing and not buying extra software. I know that folks will be saying "just pay of the thing" but unfortunately I'm kind of poor at the moment and am really lending this out to a friend who's also without a lot of extra cash. Others that I looked at that came up as "free" were either other limited or trail versions. I did look online for some conversion type programs and found one, only to realize that it's a limited version and will only covert part of the file unless I pay for the 'real"version. I couldn't get Quicktime 7 to even recognize the format so that's out as a way of converting it. OK, I took folks' advice here and tried some options for opening up my AVHD file. ![]() or how can I convert it to some kind of format that will work with these programs.? Or perhaps there's a better workflow that accomplishes all of this that I'm just not aware of. How can I open this up with my copy of iMovie or Premiere CS4. and I want to export it at the highest quality. I can only open it up in Quicktime, but then in that program if I want to export it, the 1080 option is greyed out. I just put the SD card on my Mac, an older model (3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) with OS 10.10.5 and now it seems that the file (which I dragged to the "movies" folder on my hard drive), labeled AVCHD can't be opened by either the iMovie app or Premiere CS4. ![]() I just shot an experimental clip to test it, using the best quality settings (1080p). My GH2 came loaded (I got it used) with some sort of hot rodded firmware that supposedly makes the video a lot smoother. I'm a regular on some other forums on the site and though I've experimented with video a bit a very long time ago, I've never actually used my GH2 (that I've had for 5 or so years. ![]()
